Facilities
Davidson Community Park
Facilities are plentiful and adequate for basketball, baseball, softball and skateboarding. Hughes Park hosts youth tournaments year round. Thomasville’s central location in the state and close proximity to interstates 85 and 40 make the “Chair City” an ideal place to hold AAU, USSSA and similar type sports tournaments.
Doak Skat8 Park
Through many committee meetings, public meetings, City Council meetings, and fundraisers and donations (including a grant from Professional skater Tony Hawk's Foundation), and with the help of youth skate boarders, the skate park was built on a former tennis court at one of Thomasville's most popular parks, Doak Park.
The park includes a 3' mini ramp, 3' quarter pipe, two 5' quarter pipes, a pyramid with a 10' rail, 16" tall flat bar rail, and a 12' kink rail that declines from 28" to 10".
