Historic Sites in and around Thomasville

The Thomasville Visitors’ Center is in one of the oldest passenger depots in NC (circa 1870.) Sites and signs downtown detail Thomasville’s significance in the US Civil War. City Cemetery is the only place in the world where soldiers from both sides of the Civil War are buried together in a single gravesite. Add visits to the North Carolina Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial or the canons at Memorial Park and you begin to feel the reverence the Chair City has for its history.
