Thomasville Emporium

The 25,000 sq. ft. Emporium provides space for 63 antiques and collectibles dealers and consignment sales for another 32 dealers whose dealings include a unique blend of antiques, treasures and junk. As for the junk, the old saying fits here, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure!” Find antique furniture, working refurbished radios from the 1920’s and ‘30’s,clocks, vintage clothing, artwork, collectible books, magazines,and more.
Admission is free of charge.

Baptist Children’s Home

They received their first child on Nov. 11, 1885 and became a home to 1,200 orphans by 1910. Thousands of children have grown up there including former New York Yankees World Series pitcher Johnny Allen. Tour their museum and learn of their rich history. Admission is free of charge.

Train & Railroad

Train buffs will enjoy the Thomasville Visitors Center housed in a railroad depot built circa 1870 and the big red caboose beside it that is great for kids and adults alike. Learn how Thomasville was formed in 1852 shortly after the railroad system was established in North Carolina for approximately $4 million! Admission is free of charge.

NC Zoological Park

Recognized as one of the nation’s top zoos it is located about 75 miles west of Raleigh in Asheboro, NC Among the most popular exhibits are those that display polar bears, sea lions, river otters, alligators, elephants, gorillas, baboons, rhinoceros, giraffes, and zebras. Seagrove Pottery

The North Carolina Transportation Museum

Less than an hour down I-85 where you can go on half-hour train rides and see 150,000 sq. ft. of exhibits. Admission is free of charge.
